Church Planting...
OUR VISION
(Jesus said) "Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest."
John 4:35 (NIV)

A Mission to Multiply

Surveys now confirm what we have always believed to be true: New churches birth new believers. Christ gave us a clear mandate to make disciples and equip them to reach others. Not surprisingly, new congregations usually focus on this mission. They have a passion for bringing others to Christ and, as a result, they grow.

The Classis of Cascades is committed to multiplying disciples by multiplying churches. We envision a new wave of growth, as existing churches become "parents." We see a multiplying effect as more and more thriving, growing multi-cultural churches catch the vision and accept the challenge of planting.

Catching the Vision

The Classis of Cascades envisions seven new church plants in the next ten years. How the Classis of Cascades grows depends on you and your vision.

PRAY
Carefully consider how God would have you be involved. Ask for specific direction and resolve to follow where He leads.

PRIORITIZE
Commit to making church planting a personal priority for you and also within your congregation. Take steps today to reinforce that decision.

PARTICIPATE
Raise up and train leaders, provide financial support and become actively involved in planting. Encourage others to develop a "Kingdom perspective."

Church planting is not a luxury; it is a necessity. Despite the perception that there is a "church on every corner," the need for Christ-centered, community-minded churches has never been greater. Statistics tell us that church planting is the most effective way to reach the lost.

As a person, as a prayer group, as a church, decide to become involved in planting and growth: long-lasting, enthusiastic and eternal.

Facing the Facts
  • The average established church in America has one convert a year for every 100 members. The average new church has one convert for every three members.
  • 3,500 to 4,000 American churches close their doors every year.
  • In North America, of all church plants that fail 80%, are because they have not received the proper preparation, training or support.
